Indiana Fever Star Caitlin Clark Suffers Double Loss on Sunday

Caitlin Clark was in attendance for Game 1 of the WNBA playoffs matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream at Gateway Center Arena on Sunday. Unfortunately for the two-time All-Star, she watched her team suffer a tough loss in the series-opener, 80-68, which now sees the Fever just one loss away from their season coming to an end.

Clark, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a groin injury, watched Kelsey Mitchell carry the load for Indiana on Sunday. The newly crowned All-WNBA first team guard went off for a game-high 27 points in an impressive effort that still wasn’t enough for the Fever.

That wasn’t the only loss Clark suffered on Sunday, though. Earlier in the day, the 23-year-old took to social media to wish the Fever luck, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs, ahead of their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Go Fever , Go Chiefs!!! let’s have a day❤️,” Clark wrote on X.

After Indiana’s loss, Clark tuned in to the game at Arrowhead Stadium. In fact, she even believed that the Chiefs would pull off a come-from-behind victory against the defending champions.

“Feeling some Chiefs magic to finish the game here come on!!!” she posted.

Patrick Mahomes and Co. were able to score a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to cut down Philly’s lead to just three points. The Eagles held on, though, securing a 20-17 road win to go up 2-0 on the season.

Clark’s Chiefs, on the other hand, are now 0-2 in what has been a disappointing start to the new campaign.

As for the Fever, they head back home ahead of Game 2 on Tuesday. They will host the Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a do-or-die matchup, and there is no doubt that Clark will be passionately cheering on her teammates from the bench.
