Indiana Fever veteran Tyasha Harris shared her reaction to A’ja Wilson’s fifth WNBA Most Valuable Player award.
The WNBA officially announced on Thursday that the Las Vegas Aces star was named the league MVP for a third straight season. This latest feat by Wilson sets a new WNBA record for the most MVP awards by a player. The 6-foot-4 center extended her own league record of four MVP titles.
Harris was among those who were left in awe of this groundbreaking accomplishment. The Fever guard shared the WNBA’s announcement of Wilson’s win on her Instagram stories, along with a three-word reaction.
“5 is crazyyyyy,” Harris wrote.
In addition to being the only player in league history to win five MVP awards, Wilson also became the first player to win the accolade for three straight seasons.
The former University of South Carolina standout averaged a league-leading 26.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.9 blocks (also first in the league), and 1.4 steals.
Wilson’s phenomenal play helped the Aces secure the No. 3 spot in the regular-season standings, finishing 31-13.
Harris witnessed Wilson’s dominance firsthand when the Fever faced the Aces in the opening round of the playoffs. Las Vegas eliminated Indiana in the postseason for a second straight year.
The eight-time WNBA All-Star went off against the Fever, averaging 32.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game on 64.6% shooting from the field.
But Wilson and Co. are now on the brink of elimination against the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA semifinals, currently down 2-0 in their best-of-five series. Wilson’s production dropped significantly, with 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist in the first two games.
It’s a must-win contest for Wilson and Co. in Game 3, as the series shifts back to their home floor at Michelob ULTRA Arena on Friday.
Harris, meanwhile, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. She played 39 games for the Fever in 2026, averaging 4.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 13.6 minutes per contest.
