Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark missed her first game of the 2026 WNBA season on Wednesday. The All-Star playmaker was a late scratch against the Portland Fire due to a back injury.

Naturally, Clark's sudden absence sparked concerns and disappointment, especially since she's Indiana's best player. In the four games she has played so far, Clark has averaged 24.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block.

It doesn't look like Clark's back issue is a long-term injury, though, with head coach Stephanie White telling reporters that "she's healthy" and that her absence was just a precautionary measure.

Clark herself doesn't look bothered by her injury either. She attended the Fever's game against Portland and even hyped up her teammate, Aliyah Boston.

On Thursday, Clark even shared some good news about her career off the court, officially announcing the upcoming release of her picture book titled, "EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams."

According to Clark, her picture book will be released on Nov. 3. She also shared that fans can now preorder the book through publishing house Random House Children's Books.

The hardcover version of the book costs $19.99. Prices for the e-book and audiobook have yet to be revealed.

As reported previously, the book was inspired from an inspirational message that Clark had posted above her mirror hanging in her childhood bedroom. The phrase centers around the idea that small but consistent effort can lead to extraordinary results.

The book features rhyming verses. It hopes to inspire the younger generation and teach them about perseverance.

Clark is currently focused on the 2026 season, as she looks to lead the Fever to a championship. Sure enough, with her upcoming book, there's also plenty to look forward to in the offseason.
