The Dallas Wings recorded back-to-back wins under coach Jose Fernandez with a win over the Las Vegas Aces. The architect of the win was none other than Jessica Shepard, who is holding the Dallas Wings together and leading them to an impressive run.
She recorded her second triple-double in the season, putting forward another all-around performance against the defending champions, and drew comparisons with the NBA’s all-rounder Draymond Green. And it came from none other than the Aces’ coach Becky Hammon.
Attending the media session, Azzi Fudd and Paige Buckers shared a funny glance when the question came up. Addressing the comparison, she said, “I think he is a player, that’s a champion many times for a reason. He is willing to do whatever the team needs to win. So, in comparison, in that aspect of his game, yes. In other aspects, maybe I can score a little better than him.”

Her last sentences cracked up her teammates and also the media personnel. Statistically, the Wings’ forward averages 6.4 points with a season high of career high of 8.1 points per game. She is nearly tripling those numbers in the ongoing season, which has boosted her confidence.
Draymond Green averages 8.7 points per game in his career and has shown his versatility as a rebounder and playmaker at times, helping the team win four championships. Importantly, though, Shepard’s 2026 season had been a record-setting year for her.
It’s really a good time for the Texas franchise at the moment. Azzi Fudd found her ‘mojo’ and silenced the critics with her 24-point performance against the Liberty. She again added 22 points against the Aces. Bueckers is thriving on the floor with quality around her, and Arike Ogunbowale also found her shooting touch.
Shepard is playing on another level, though. With her second triple-double performance, the 29-year-old became the first Wings player with multiple triple-double stats. Shepard’s two triple-doubles are the only two recorded in the WNBA this season.

In seven games, Shepard has three double-doubles and two triple-doubles, making her a real leader on the roster that’s a championship contender.
