Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was featured in Nike's Super Bowl commercial this past Sunday night. She got to share the spotlight with a handful of notable athletes, including WNBA stars Sabrina Ionescu and A'ja Wilson.
Nike's commercial on Sunday was its first Super Bowl spot in 27 years. It didn't just feature a handful of highlights, it included a monologue from rapper Doechii. She started off by saying, "You can't be demanding. You can't be relentless. You can't put yourself first. So, put yourself first."
After the Super Bowl ended, Clark shared a few photos from her latest work with Nike. In one of the images she posted on Instagram, she wore Nike basketball shorts along with a sports bra.
"You’ll be told you can’t do it," Clark wrote for her caption. "So do it anyway."
Countless people commented on this post from Clark, including former Iowa teammate Kate Martin. Unsurprisingly, she loved this photoshoot.
"Never listen to the haters," Martin wrote.
Clark and Martin shared the hardwood at Iowa from 2020-2024. They played pivotal roles in the program's back-to-back Final Four appearances. Although they're no longer teammates, they remain extremely close.
Clark recently admit that she'd love to team up with Martin in the WNBA.
"Now she's getting a little more run, and getting to play, and playing free. I think people are just seeing her confidence grow and grow. So just like I said, I'm really happy for her, and hopefully I can recruit her to the Fever somehow, some way one day, who knows? I'm gonna try to figure that out," Clark said, via Women's Fastbreak. "That's my goal at some point in my career, to team up with Kate again. But we'll see if that happens."
For now though, Clark and Martin will have to support each other from a distance.
