Lexie Hull Addresses Stephanie White’s Indiana Fever Decision (Exclusive)

Lexie Hull has started 37 out of the Indiana Fever’s 40 games so far this season. She came off the bench for the first three games of the campaign as she worked her way back from a hamstring injury. Head coach Stephanie White inserted her into the starting lineup in their fourth game, and Hull has started every single one since.

White’s confidence in the 27-year-old has never wavered. In late August, as Hull went through a rough shooting stretch, the Fever head coach admitted she was “struggling with confidence.” White reaffirmed her decision to keep Hull in the lineup, emphasizing that she impacts winning outside her scoring.

In an exclusive interview with Athlon Sports, Hull addressed her coach’s decision. The Fever shooting guard shared her reaction to White publicly backing her up.

“That means a lot to me for sure,” Hull said on Thursday. “Obviously, we’ve had private conversations about it, but that means a lot when you can see your coach has your back and values you.

“And I think the biggest message is that everybody wants to contribute offensively, but I always try to impact the game in a lot of different ways, especially with our team.

“So yeah, it felt really good for sure.”

Hull acknowledged that White’s unwavering confidence made it easier for her to play through the ups and downs.
