Lexie Hull was a late addition to the Indiana Fever’s injury report for Tuesday’s Game 2 matchup against the Las Vegas Aces. The 6-foot-1 guard is dealing with a back issue that was significant enough to put her status for the game in doubt.
However, despite being listed as questionable to play, Hull was able to play through the injury and help the Fever on Tuesday night. In fact, she made a significant impact on the game, registering 15 points, three rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes of action.
Hull knocked down five triples as well, en route to rewriting the franchise history books. With her five treys on the evening, Hull was able to tie the Fever’s record for the most three-pointers made in a playoff game.
Before Tuesday night, three former Fever players were tied for the record. Tangela Smith achieved this first on September 22, 2011, while Katie Douglas and Marissa Coleman have both reached that mark twice. Hull has now entered the history books with her hot shooting against the Aces.
Unfortunately for Indiana, not even Hull’s offensive explosion was enough to overcome a dominant performance from Las Vegas. Down 0-1 in the series, the Aces had no intention of losing Game 2 at home.
Four-time MVP A’ja Wilson led the charge for Las Vegas, dropping a game-high 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, with nine rebounds, one assist, five steals, two blocks and one triple in 33 minutes of play.
The Aces cruised to victory in this one, 90-68, tying the series at 1-1. Games 3 and 4 now shift to Indiana, with the Fever still holding the advantage after stealing one game on the road.
Game 3 from Gainbridge Fieldhouse will take place on Friday, with tip-off scheduled at 7:30 p.m. ET.
