The Minnesota Lynx have roared to a 9-0 record after dismantling the Dallas Wings 81-65 Sunday in Arlington, Texas. It's the best start for the Lynx since the 2017 team started 9-0, but still shy of the WNBA record 13-0 start to the 2016 season by the Lynx.

Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Kayla McBride hit six three-points and finished second on the team with 21 points,  No one else on the team scored in double figures.

Minnesota scored the first seven points of the third quarter Sunday night to increase their lead to 14, but they scored only four points over the final six-plus minutes and by the time the fourth quarter started their lead had shrank to one point at 57-56.

But in the final quarter, the Lynx outscored Dallas 24-9, fueled by a defense that limited the Wings to only three points over the first 6 minutes, 45 seconds of the 10-minute quarter.

The Wings were playing without Minnesota native and the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers. The Hopkins native and former UConn star missed three straight games while in the concussion protocol, and an illness kept her off the court Sunday.

"Just dealing with an illness and just being extremely cautious and supportive as an organization," Wings coach Chris Koclanes said. "Hope to have her back soon."
