Angel Reese has become the first female athlete to have a national meal partnership with fast food chain giant McDonald’s, as her official collaboration with the chain gets launched and hyped up on social media.
Called “The Angel Reese Special,” this collaborative meal between the fast food chain and the WNBA star will include a BBQ bacon quarter pounder with cheese, a new BBQ sauce, french fries, and a drink choice. This special limited-edition meal can be ordered starting February 10.
In a press release, McDonald’s highlighted its long history of support for basketball and basketball players of all ages and leagues, as the chains say it is “all about elevating the game” for fans. It also proudly highlighted how the company continues in “showcase the nation’s best ballers” through the McDonald’s All-American Games for high school players.
“It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy,” Reese said about the collaboration. “I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams.”
Angel Reese is currently busy playing on unrivaled, under the Rose Basketball Club.
In one of the recent episodes of her podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” Angel Reese had her mom in the show, and after announcing that it was her mom’s birthday, the Chicago Sky star gave her a cake as a gift for the occasion.
However, her real gift turned out to not be the cake, but rather something else. As her mom held the cake, Reese dropped the news of what her “real” birthday gift to her mom was.
Turns out, Angel had paid off her mom’s mortgage so she could retire.
“You said that if your mortgage was paid off, you would retire,” Reese said. “Or you can pick if you want to work still. So your mortgage today has been paid.”
Her mom, Angel Webb Reese, is 46 years old. Reese has always been close to her mom and has always expressed love for her.
“Looking at her and seeing how she never backed down to anything. She always stood her ground,” she said on ESPN’s “First Take” in 2023. “Being able to just look at her and say, ‘Mom, you showed me. You paved the way for me.'”
