PHOENIX — The Phoenix Mercury hopes to carry momentum into Friday’s matchup as it finishes its homestand against the undefeated Minnesota Lynx.

The Mercury have gone 4-1 so far this season and have yet to be defeated at home. Its last victory comes against the Chicago Sky on May 27, 94-89.
Veterans Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas have played important roles within a
team full of new faces. Both players are the only players that have scored 11 or more points in each game this season. Sabally is averaging 19.8 points and Thomas is averaging 15.2 points per game. Thomas has been its leader in assists, averaging 8.0 per game. However, the vets aren’t the only ones showing out on offense.
Over the past five games, four rookies have made their marks in Phoenix: Kitija Laksa, Lexi Held, Monique Akoa-Makani and Kathryn Westbeld. They made WNBA history for Phoenix by being the first team to have four rookies all shooting three or more three-pointers in a game.
Makani has been the focal point of late-game comebacks averaging 10.6 points, shooting 50.0% from the paint and 52.2% from three.

Minnesota Preview
The Lynx are on an undefeated run, 5-0, and are currently first in the Western Conference. It defeated the Seattle Storm on May 27, 82-77.
Napheesa Collier is the Lynx’s offensive power, averaging 26.8 points, shooting 52.7% from the field and 43.8% from three per game. She is currently questionable for Friday’s game due to her knee. Kayla McBride is right behind Collier, averaging 15.0 points, shooting 50.0% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc.
Courtney Williams has helped Minnesota set up plays averaging 6.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.
