Fans were abuzz when veteran host David Letterman hosted a talk with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark at Ball State University on Monday.

Letterman and Clark held court in front of a sold-out audience at the former's alma mater. Specific details, however, have yet to be disclosed since the event was closed to the media. But multiple reports confirmed that it was part of Letterman's popular show on Netflix, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman."

The 22-year-old Clark joined a list of athletes handpicked by Letterman to appear on his program, which started in 2018. Others include Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, NBA legend Charles Barkley and Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton.

Aside from their talk at Ball State University, it was revealed that one of the show's segments was also filmed at a donut shop in Indianapolis.

On Instagram, Long's Bakery posted several pictures of Clark, Letterman and the production crew at the family-owned shop.

"WHEWW…what a WONDERFUL Day at Long’s Bakery! We are super blessed to be chosen by David Letterman to hold his interview with Caitlin Clark for the Netflix Series 'My Next Guest,'" read the caption.

The 77-year-old Letterman was born and raised in Indianapolis, and it's safe to assume that he's familiar with Long's Bakery.

The date of the episode's release has yet to be announced, as of writing.

Clark, who was named Rookie of the Year after a sensational campaign with the Fever, has kept busy in the offseason. Aside from her interview with Letterman, she's attended football games, played in a golf tournament and graced a high-profile gala.

The Fever star recently turned down a lucrative offer to play in the new Unrivaled 3-on-3 league, which will tip off in January.
