Raven Johnson is quickly acclimating to her new team. The former South Carolina Gamecocks star joined Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever as the 10th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft.
Johnson made an immediate impact during her Fever debut. The 5-foot-8 guard suited up for Indiana for the first time on Saturday in a preseason game against the New York Liberty.
Johnson logged six points on 3-of-3 shooting, along with three rebounds, a game-high eight assists, a steal and two blocks in 17 minutes of action. She helped lead Indiana to a lopsided 109-91 victory.
The Fever have high hopes for the rookie, and Johnson’s debut performance proved why.
Johnson was back at practice on Monday, along with the rest of the squad. The Fever posted a video of the 23-year-old cheering her teammates from the sidelines during a practice drill.
Johnson was hyped after seeing Clark drain a three-point shot right in front of her. After high-fiving the two-time All-Star, Johnson turned to the camera to make a bold declaration about Clark.
“The GOAT right there,” Johnson stated, pointing to Clark.
Johnson’s comment quickly drew a lot of attention online.
“This is the friendship that we never knew we needed to see. ” a comment on Instagram read.
“Omg I’m so excited for these two! Ahhhhh! ” another said.
“Yall heard her the goat,” a user wrote.
“loving this duo ” a reaction read.
“Is Raven the sweetest person on the planet or what? ” said another.
“Raven energy is what every team needs,” a fan wrote.
Johnson, Clark and the rest of the Fever will be back on the court on Thursday. Johnson will be looking to keep her foot on the gas as she makes her home preseason debut in front of the Indiana faithful at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Fever will host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
