Rhyne Howard has become one of the most consistent shooters and overall performers in the WNBA. As she wrapped up her fourth regular season in the league on Wednesday, her name has begun to show itself in the record books more and more.

Howard, the No. 1 overall pick by the Atlanta Dream in 2022, continues to shine as one of the more unheralded stars in the WNBA. Howard won the Rookie of the Year award, and has been named an All-Star in three of her four seasons in the league.

She has also solidified herself as one of the best shooters in the league, not only this season, but in the history of the league.

On Wednesday night, the Dream closed out their regular season with a 88-72 victory over the Connecticut Sun. They finish the regular season with a record of 30-14, which currently has them as the No. 2 seed in the playoff standings.

If the Las Vegas Aces win their final game of the season against the Los Angeles Sparks (who have been eliminated from playoff contention), the Aces would leapfrog the Dream into the No. 2 seed by virtue of holding the tiebreak over the Dream.

Rhyne Howard Joins Elite WNBA Company

While Howard and the Dream's playoff ranking is out of their control, what was in Howard's control was her 3-point shot on Wednesday night.

Howard drained three 3-pointers against the Sun, landing her in the company of Caitlin Clark as well as other elite WNBA players.

Howard finished the 2025 regular season with 102 made 3-pointers, making her just the ninth player in WNBA history to make at least 100 3-pointers in a single season.

She joins (Caitlin) Clark (1x), Jewell Loyd (1x), Arike Ogunbowale (2x), Kelsey Plum (2x), Sabrina Ionescu (2x), Kayla McBride (2x), Diana Taurasi (2x), and Kelsey Mitchell (3x) in the record books.

The record for most 3-pointers made in a season is held by Ionescu, who made 128 on 2023.

Howard also set the new franchise record for made 3-pointers in a season for the Dream. The record was previously held by Renee Montgomery, who made 78 3-pointers during the 2018 season.

Howard has come insanely close to accomplishing this feat before, making 99 3-pointers in 2023. While Howard's 3-point shooting has been impressive all season, she actually made WNBA history multiple times this year.

During a game in late August against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, Howard had six blocks while also making six 3-pointers. As per @statmuse on X, she became the first player in WNBA history to accomplish this feat in a single game.

Howard also tied the record for most 3-pointers made in a game. She made nine 3-pointers on Sept. 5 of this year against the Sparks.
