Sabrina Ionescu continues to play some of the best basketball of her career. As she makes her way through season No. 6 in the WNBA, Ionescu hasn’t just improved statistically on the court, she’s also let her personality as a leader shine through.

Tuesday night, against the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx, was no different. Ionescu, still leading her New York Liberty toward a fifth straight playoff appearance without fellow superstar, Breanna Stewart, put her team on her back yet again against the Lynx.

In the Liberty's second of back-to-back games against the Lynx, they were looking to bounce back from Saturday's loss on the road with a home-victory over the No. 1 seed, Lynx. The Lynx continue to make their push toward the playoffs without their MVP-frontrunner, Napheesa Collier, as she continues to rehab a right ankle sprain suffered nearly three weeks ago.

Sabrina Ionescu Puts Lynx to Bed With Clutch Shot

With the Liberty clinging to a four-point lead, with just under a minute to play in the game, Ionescu rose up, drilling a huge 3-pointer while also getting fouled on the play. Ionescu would complete the four-point play, essentially securing victory for the Liberty over the Lynx.

The Liberty beat the Lynx 85-75, and now hold the third best record in the WNBA (22-13). With Ionescu finishing with a 17-point, 11-assist, double-double, she was asked during her on-court, postgame interview how she felt after she let go of that clutch 3-point shot.

Ionescu channeled her inner-Stephen Curry, responding with a clear, two-word response, "Night, night."

It's not the first time Ionescu has borrowed Curry's signature "Night, night" move. Ionescu went to the signature move following her 2025 WNBA All-Star 3-point contest victory. She even confessed her previous loss to Curry at the 2024 3-point contest fueled her in preparation to win this year's contest.

Ionescu has continued to improve her all-around game as she makes her way through her impressive career. She currently ranks fifth in the league this season in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game. She also ranks sixth in the league with 2.3 made 3-pointers per game.
