Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever put up a good fight against the New York Liberty on Saturday night. Unfortunately for Indiana, they still came up short as the defending champs secured a hard-fought 90-88 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to improve to 3-0 on the season.
It was Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones who led the charge for the Liberty in this one. Ionescu dropped 23 points, five rebounds and four assists in the win, while Jones registered a monster 26-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Ionescu, in particular, marked an incredible career milestone in Saturday's game. The three-time All-Star rewrote the history books in the win as she climbed to the No. 4 spot for the most points in Liberty franchise history.
The team made the announcement on social media, and Ionescu just had to flex her major feat by sharing the post on her Instagram stories.

Ionescu did not add any caption to her post, instead opting to let the record speak for itself.
This makes New York's win on Saturday night a statement victory for the Liberty and their quest to secure back-to-back championships this season.
Clark and the Fever may not be the best team in the WNBA right now, but there's no denying that they have firmly established themselves as the most popular squad among fans.
Up next for Ionescu and Co. is a home game against the Golden State Valkyrie at Barclays Center on Tuesday. New York will be looking to keep their perfect start to the season going in what should be a favorable matchup for them.
