The Minnesota Lynx’s six-game win streak ended Tuesday night with an 85-75 loss to the New York Liberty.

It marks the sixth loss of the season for Minnesota, who at 28-6 still lead the WNBA by six games over the Atlanta Dream and 6.5 over the Liberty.

It also marks the first loss since losing Napheesa Collier to a right ankle sprain on Aug. 2. The Lynx said Aug. 4 that Coller would be re-evaluated in the future, but an official update hasn’t been provided in the last two-plus weeks.

Courtney Williams led the Lynx with 17 points but there wasn’t a lot of scoring punch behind the All-Star guard. The other four starters combined for 20 points while the bench kept Minnesota within striking distance.

Natasha Heideman chipped in with 16 points off the bench, while DiJonai Carrington and Maria Kliundikova both added 11 points.

New York’s starting five combined for 72 points. Jonquel Jones had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Sabrina Ionescu had a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists.

Minnesota stays on the road and will travel across the country to play the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.
