Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have been unable to secure consecutive wins to begin the 2025 WNBA season, falling to 2-2 through four games.
On Saturday, the Fever fell to Breanna Stewart and the defending champion New York Liberty 90-88 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The game ended in a similar fashion to Indiana's first loss of the season, a 91-90 defeat to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
With less than seven seconds remaining and the game tied, Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu attacked the basket with the Fever's Lexie Hull guarding her. As Ionescu was going up for a layup, she drew contact on Hull, causing a foul and giving her two free throws with 2.2 seconds left. Ionescu hit both free throws, and the Fever were unable to get off a shot before the buzzer.
A slow-motion video of Hull's foul on Ionescu was posted on social media.

Many WNBA fans were left unhappy with the foul after seeing the play in slow motion. Even the commentator questioned the call, claiming it may have been "offense-initiated contact."
They took to social media to leave their thoughts.
"Not a foul. Awful call," one fan said.
"Sabrina went into her. Lexie did not impede her movement at all. Should've been a no call 100%," claimed a second.
"Sabrina clearly initiated the contact. Refs are the worst I've seen," wrote a third.
"Lexie was vertical how can they miss that," added another.
"How the (expletive) was that a foul!!!" asked a fifth.
"It’s not. Sabrina initiated contact. Lexie is completely vertical. She didn’t do anything," posted a sixth.
Hull, who received her first start of the season, finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and two rebounds. Ionescu, on the other hand, tallied 23 points, five rebounds and four assists.
The Fever will now have a few days of rest before traveling to the nation's capital to face the Washington Mystics on Wednesday.
