Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever find themselves fighting for a playoff spot with just three games remaining in the 2025 WNBA regular season. The Fever have stayed competitive despite a wave of injuries that has hit the team.
Caitlin Clark has been out for 29 games, including the Commissioner's Cup final and the last 19, with numerous injuries. Guards Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson have been ruled out for the season as well.
But on Thursday, the team announced even more injury news, revealing that Chloe BOn Thursday, the Fever announced more bad injury news, revealing that Chloe Bibby’s season is over because of a lingering knee issue. The former Valkyries forward hadn’t played in Indiana’s last six games. She was available for Friday night’s game but did not see the floor, and a setback afterward kept her out of the next two contests.
After the news broke that Bibby would miss the rest of the season, White broke her silence on the situation during the Fever's media availability on Thursday, claiming it was a "long-term decision."
"She looked really good heading into LA and then we traveled from LA to (Phoenix), her knee just swelled up and we have not been able to get the swelling reduced," White said. "I think, again, long-term decision. Just probably not going to be ready by end of the season. Definitely not going to be ready by the end of the season. She just didn't get any relief trying to rehab it while we were in Golden State and Phoenix."

Said the knee swelled up so much and they thought it would go down, but it didn’t and it wasn’t responding to rehab.
Bibby joined the Fever in the middle of 2025, earning a rest-of-season contract. In nine games with Indiana, she averaged 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per contest. The Fever also brought back rookie Bree Hall on a rest-of-season hardship contract in light of the new season-ending injury.
While White didn’t say it outright, her reference to a “long-term decision” could hint at Bibby returning to the team in 2026, even with her contract set to expire this year.
White and the Fever will be back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET, hosting the Chicago Sky.
