According to Athlon Sports, The Las Vegas Aces will be without MVP A’ja Wilson for a second straight game on Sunday, June 15 against the Phoenix Mercury following a head injury she suffered against the Los Angeles Sparks on June 11.
Wilson is listed in concussion protocol. She already missed Friday’s game against the Dallas Wings.
Despite her absence, the Aces managed to squeak by the Wings, 88-84.
Underdog WNBA first reported the news Saturday:
“A’ja Wilson (concussion protocol) ruled out for Sunday.”
Wilson is the league’s reigning MVP, having won the award in 2020 and 2022. She has been a leading force in the Aces back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.
With the exception of the shortened 2020 COVID season, she has been named WNBA All-Star every year of her career.
