The Golden State Valkyries have a big game coming up on Thursday. They get to host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at Chase Center in what could very well be their most highly anticipated home game of the season.

After all, it's not everyday that Caitlin Clark comes to town, and there's no denying that the fans will flock to see the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year in action.

The Valkyries took to social media on the eve of their big clash to share some incredible news. This comes in the form of a sizable donation to non-profit organization CURYJ  at the conclusion of Golden State's Commissioner Cup campaign.

"After finishing 3-3 in the Commissioner’s Cup, we’re proud to have donated $12,000 to @CURYJ — a Bay Area organization transforming the lives of youth impacted by incarceration and injustice," the team posted on X.

The Valkyries played their final game of the Commisioner's Cup on Tuesday, which resulted in an 80-71 defeat at the hands of Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.

Despite the loss, Golden State was still able to secure three wins in the in-season tournament, which, as the team said in the announcement, has generated a donation worth $12,000.

CURYJ or the Communities United for Restorative Youth Justice is an Oakland-based organization that aims to unlock "the leadership of young people to dream beyond bars."

CURYJ is the Valkyries chosen partner organization for the Commissioner's Cup, with every win representing a predetermined monetary donation for the charity.

There won't be any donations at stake for Thursday's game, but Golden State will have no shortage of motivation to go out and secure a big home win against the Fever. The Valkyries haven't exactly been the best team in the league in their inaugural WNBA season, but a win against Clark and Co. will certainly go a long way for them.
