It has been quite a ride in the WNBA for Williams, who was taken fourth overall in the 2018 draft by the Chicago Sky.
After three seasons with the Sky, she went back to Europe to continue her pro career, but later returned to the WNBA to play for the Seattle Storm.
Williams then signed a contract with the Valkyries in April, joining a team that was just entering its second-ever season in the WNBA.
It turned out to be a perfect partnership, as Williams led Golden State to a WNBA title, outlasting Angel Reese and the Dream in seven games.
In Game 7, Williams had a slow start but delivered a performance after halftime that Valkyries fans will talk about for a long time. After scoring just two points in the first half, Williams found her rhythm and went off for 28 points in the final two periods to finish the game with 30 points — and a WNBA ring.
