Chennedy Carter , former Chicago Sky point guard, seemed to be happy with Courtney Vandersloot’s season-ending injury. Vandersloot, who signed with the Sky during the offseason and showed plenty of promise in her debut for the team, suffered an ACL tear, which basically ends her season with Chicago.
Vandersloot was touted to be Carter’s replacement, who played for the Chicago Sky in the previous season. However, she was not signed for another season with the Sky, which left Carter bitter about the whole thing.
“when the universe gives you signs you pay attention ! what goes around always comes back around. when you have ugly in your heart the outcome will always backfire
just wanna say pay attention to the universe. it’s speaking to us
” Chennedy Carter posted on Threads about the Chicago Sky franchise on her Threads account.
Chennedy Carter is currently not playing for any team in the ongoing WNBA season after failing to be signed with a franchise. However, Carter is still labeled as a highly talented player. Still, her stats in the previous WNBA season were not too impressive as the player put up 14.6 points in each game on average, grabbing 2.5 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Chennedy Carter seems to have cast some bad mojo on the Chicago Sky as they can’t seem to catch a break in this ongoing WNBA season. As of now, the Sky are ranked 11th overall and are fifth in the Eastern Conference with only two wins in the season.
There were numerous reasons as to why Chennedy Carter failed to crack a longer deal with the Chicago Sky. Apparently, it was not only because of her unimpressive stats on the court for the Sky, but also because of issues she had with other players in the locker room. Of course, these are all but hearsay, and nothing as such has been confirmed by the team.
It was actually pretty curious to see that the talented guard failed to be signed by any franchise in the WNBA with rumors going around that she actually had been blacklisted. According to some sources, Chennedy Carter committed a flagrant foul against Caitlin Clark in the previous WNBA season, which eventually led her to being pushed out of the league. Again, there has been no evidence of this being the reason for her not being signed for this ongoing season.
