The Dallas Wings and the WNBA draft's first overall pick, Paige Bueckers, lost their first game of the regular season to the Minnesota Lynx, 99-84 inside the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, on Friday.
Bueckers scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in her debut alongside three other starters who scored in the double digits. All-WNBA guard Arike Ogunbowale scored 16 points. Forwards Dijonai Carrington and Myisha Hines-Allen scored 15 and 11 points, respectively.
In total the four starters were able to score 52 points by the end of the night and this could increase once German prospect Luisa Geiselsöder makes her highly anticipated debut. Geiselsöder, 25, was drafted with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft and signed a training camp contract with the Wings during this past offseason.
The Wings announced she has been designated as active by the league and will join the team after having her contract temporarily suspended to allow her to finish her season with Basket Landes in the French basketball league. This season, Geiselsöder led them to the Ligue Feminine de Basketball championship by averaging 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
After helping Landes win the LFB championship, @DallasWings center Luisa Geiselsöder will report to the Wings today. Geiselsöder had been temporarily suspended while finishing with Landes, with the @WNBA officially designating her today as active.

Geiselsöder started at center for Germany during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she averaged 7.3 points per game, 7 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game. She now joins a Wings front court composed of starting center NaLyssa Smith and veteran forwards Carrington and Hines-Allen.
Geiselsöder will look forward to making her Wings debut in the near future as their second game of the season is against the Lynx again on Wednesday in Minnesota.
