The Atlanta Dream made it back-to-back wins on Friday night to improve to 7-3 on the season. They took out Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky in a dominant 88-70 victory at Gateway Center Arena.
Atlanta's big win was thanks in large part to Rhyne Howard, who caught fire in this one. The two-time All-Star went off for a game-high 36 points on 12-of-25 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes of action.
Howard was red-hot from rainbow territory against the Sky, draining nine shots from beyond the arc to tie a WNBA record for the most three-pointers in a single game.
There was no doubt as to who the best player was on the evening, and the WNBA made it official by announcing Howard as the Top Performer of the game.

Howard has been incredible for the Dream this season. In 10 games played, the 6-foot-2 guard has averaged 18.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals, while also connecting on 3.2 triples per game.
Howard could improve on her efficiency from the floor, though, with the former Rookie of the Year shooting just 35.8% overall and 29.9% from beyond the arc.
As for Reese and the Sky, Friday's loss was their third straight blowout defeat as their season continues to get from bad to worse. They now have a 2-7 record, and have tied the Connecticut Sun for the second-worst record in the entire league.
Unless the Sky are able to get their act together soon, this is going to be another wasted season for them.
