As a member of the WNBPA executive committee, Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier responded to a fan’s social media post on Saturday that claimed she and Breanna Stewart had a conflict of interest.
Stewart, Alysha Clark, and Collier, a co-founder of Unrivaled, are vice presidents of the WNBPA. The three are in charge of negotiations for a new CBA pact with the WNBA, and Stewart recently voiced some annoyance at how quickly the talks are moving.
So let me get this straight… Breanna Stewart is WNBPA President. Napheesa Collier is VP. They co-founded Unrivaled—a league that benefits if there’s a WNBA lockout. And they’re the ones leading CBA negotiations? How do you negotiate in good faith? Make it make sense.

So let me get this straight…. While everyone else was enjoying fireworks, you were thinking about how me and & Stewie of all people are conspiring to force a lockout that would result in less money year-round for WNBA players??

After this season, the WNBA and WNBPA’s existing Collective Bargaining Agreement will expire, and these talks take place while the league has experienced unprecedented expansion in recent years. Stewart and Collier have no reason for wanting a WNBA lockout. During these CBA talks, they want what’s best for the league’s players.
The WNBA announced on Sunday that Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier will serve as captains for the WNBA All-Star Game next month. Fans gave Clark 1,293,526 votes, compared to Collier’s about 100,000. The Indiana Fever standout is putting up 18.2 points and a career-high 8.9 assists while being sidelined due to a groin ailment.

Regardless of conference affiliation, the ten starters were chosen from throughout the WNBA. The All-Star starters were chosen by fans, current players, and a panel of the media. 50% of the vote was cast by fans, 25% by players, and 25% by media selections.
