WNBA Star Requests Caitlin Clark While on a Date

When in doubt, call Caitlin Clark.

The Indiana Fever superstar has proven she can move mountains when it comes to improving everything from working conditions to television ratings to fan attendance in the WNBA.

The Stud Budz, Minnesota Lynx guards Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, have been among the WNBA veterans who have recognized Clark's influence.

The popular Twitch streaming duo wanted to use its Clark connection over WNBA All-Star weekend, when a club in Indianapolis was closing for the night.

Hiedeman's plea to keep it open had her asking "Where's Caitlin Clark?" It became one of many viral moments from their 72-hour livestream that weekend while Williams dropped 13 points in the WNBA All-Star Game.

Williams and Hiedeman wished they could call on Clark once again on Wednesday, when they went on a double date and wound up in an unfortunate situation.

"Call Caitlin Clark," Williams mused to the camera after learning there was a two- to three-hour wait at Topgolf.

Williams and Hiedeman have a good relationship with Clark, who requested to be a part of the Stud Budz stream over All-Star weekend and admitted she watched along with thousands of WNBA fans when they were not together in person.

Given Clark's reputation in the golf community — she played at The ANNIKA pro-am last November and attended the Masters in April — she may have been able to pull some strings for her stranded colleagues.

However, with Indiana preparing for its game against the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday, the 23-year-old had other things on her mind.

Clark has only played in 13 games this season, averaging 16.5 points, 5 rebounds and 8.8 assists in those contests.

She has not played since July 15 due to a right groin injury, and there is still no timetable available for her return.

The Lynx, meanwhile, are cruising toward clinching the best record in the WNBA. At 25-5, Minnesota leads its nearest competitor, the defending champion New York Liberty, by 5.5 games.
