The Indiana Fever have been without All-WNBA guard Caitlin Clark for the majority of the 2025 WNBA season, but still find themselves in a prime position to make the playoffs. Sitting at 21-19 with four games remaining, the Fever control their own playoff destiny, owning the No. 7 seed as of Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday night, Indiana will close out a three-game West Coast road trip, looking to avoid a losing streak as they take on Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury. The Mercury, who lost Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner over the offseason, actually improved this season and have locked in a spot in the postseason.
However, against the Fever, Phoenix was forced to change a player's injury status.
Kalani Brown, in her first season with the Mercury, has seen her minutes dip in recent games. After averaging 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game, she hasn’t seen the floor in the last three contests despite being available.
However, for the Mercury vs. Fever matchup, Brown will not be available to play, ruled out due to personal reasons.
"Phoenix Mercury center Kalani Brown – OUT (Personal Reasons) is not present at Mercury shootaround," Desert Wave Media wrote on X. "The other 11 players are all healthy and participating."

While the Mercury may be shorthanded at the center position, the Fever will be missing a plethora of guards. Clark will miss yet another game, while Sophie Cunningham (knee), Sydney Colson (knee) and Aari McDonald (foot) are ruled out for the remainder of the season. Forward Chloe Bibby will also be out for Indiana due to a knee issue of her own.
