WNBA Team Makes Coaching Move After Beating Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever have suffered three straight losses, pushing them to 2-4 on the season.

Indiana played the Connecticut Sun on Friday night, their second game without Caitlin Clark. The WNBA star is currently sidelined with a left quadriceps injury and the initial injury diagnosis revealed a potential two-week absence.

In the matchup against the Sun, the Fever suffered an 85-83 loss. Less than 24 hours after the game, Connecticut announced a coaching move that stirred up its staff.

The Sun revealed that Roneeka Hodges has been elevated to associate head coach. She entered the season as an assistant for the Sun and quickly received a promotion.

Aside from her new role with the Sun in her first year with the organization, Hodges has spent ample time in the women's basketball scene.

As a coach, Hodges previously spent time with the New York Liberty, Colgate University and Old Dominion University.

Hodges also has a strong playing background, having competed at the professional level from 2005 to 2019. During her time in the WNBA from 2005-15, Hodges played with the Houston Comets, Minnesota Lynx, San Antonio Silver Stars, Atlanta Dream, Tulsa Shock and Indiana Fever.

Hodges averaged 6.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11 WNBA seasons.

While the Sun work to revamp their coaching staff, the Fever have their eyes set on Caitlin Clark's rehab.

They're 0-2 with Clark out of the lineup. Clark leaves a major hole for the Fever to fill, leading the team with 19.0 points and 9.3 assists per game.
