A play involving Caitlin Clark during a heated game between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday continues to be a talking point around the WNBA.
Minnesota Lynx players Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman gave their clear thoughts on the viral moment.
During the Fever game, Clark was poked in the eye by Connecticut guard Jacy Sheldon and then knocked to the ground by Marina Mabrey in an incident that initially resulted in a flagrant 1 foul on Sheldon and technicals on Clark and Mabrey.
Fever "enforcer" Sophie Cunningham later enacted some payback on Sheldon in the game.
However, the initial response (or lack thereof) from Clark's teammates when she hit the ground took the Lynx players by surprise.

This was Williams' immediate reaction when she watched the highlight clip of the Clark incident live on a Twitch livestream with Hiedeman on Wednesday:
"Aye, we would have been crashing out on our team."
A nine-year veteran of the league, Williams helped lead the tight-knit Lynx to the WNBA Finals last season. She also helped Minnesota win the 2024 WNBA Commissioner's Cup in her first season with the team, averaging 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
The Lynx, winners of the Western Conference, will defend their title against the Fever in this year's Commissioner's Cup final on July 1. The Fever were hailed as champions of the Eastern Conference after a scrappy 88-71 win in Game 5 against Connecticut.
Williams & Hiedeman watch the viral hit on Caitlin Clark and agree they would CRASH OUT for a Lynx teammate. “We can share a jail cell!” #CaitlinClark #WNBA #studbudz @CourtMWilliams @NatishaHiedeman pic.twitter.com/CxHIxGJhJV

"Courtney, if somebody ever tackled you like that," Hiedeman said before Williams interrupted, “Nobody would ever tackle me like that!”
"If that ever happened, you better crash out behind me," Hiedeman demanded, "because I’m crashing out behind you."
"We can share the same jail cell,” she joked.
Even though the Fever's initial response came under criticism from their fellow WNBA players, Cunningham's eventual retaliation after the Clark incident was enough to win over the fans. Her jersey sold out overnight.
