On the WWE SmackDown before WWE WrestleMania 41 , the WWE Universe crowned the 11th winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in Las Vegas, Nevada. Outlasting a ton of human mass in his way, Carmelo Hayes threw out his sworn enemy Andrade last to claim the giant trophy for himself the night before WWE WrestleMania 41 Saturday night.

To show the WWE Universe what it means to win this battle royal, four of the past 10 winners held or would hold the world championship. Out of those 10, nine would win a championship, in general, in WWE. As you all can see, winning this Battle Royal not only commemorates the legacy of the greatest big man wrestling has ever seen, Andre The Giant, but it’s also a massive stepping stone to better things in the company.
Hayes and Andrade had a mini-classic, reminding fans of their seven-match epic in 2024. Andrade was closing in, standing on the ropes with Hayes to eliminate him. Carmelo would capitalize on this error, leapt off the ropes, and tossed out Andrade to be the last man standing.
There’s a lot to live up to, including the name of Andre The Giant and the past winners of this event. That said, if anyone could live up to it, it’s definitely Carmelo Hayes.
