On the 20th of October, 2025, episode of WWE Raw, Jey Uso won the Battle Royal to become the Number One contender against CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. The result of the match did not go well with the fans at all, to say the least, as they have expressed their disappointment over Jey's win on social media.

It makes sense for the fans to be upset, as Jey lost his Number One Contender match for the world title against Punk just the last week, only to win it this week. Some of the wrestlers have put in hard yards lately but have not gotten enough shots at the title. On the other hand, the Main Event Jey has been in the world title spot for over a year now.

3 WWE Superstars who deserved to win Battle Royal to challenge CM Punk, ahead of Jey Uso

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio has been highly over among the fans despite being a heel. The star wrestler has had a good run with the Intercontinental Championship and is likely to drop the title in the next month or so. After that, he might potentially turn face and continue to be highly over among the fans.

Dom has history with CM Punk and has openly slandered him on social media rom te Kayfabe point of view. It makes for a fine TV program. However, the creative team does not seem to have any plans for Dom as the world champion in the near future.

AJ Styles

AJ Styles has been on an unannounced retirement tour of his own. During the Japan Supershow, he thanked the Japanese fans for everything they've done to his career. During the show, Punk lifted him on his shoulders and the fans felt the need for them to have a match.

With Styles not having many dates left in his career, fans felt their match on SNME for the world title could have been good. However, the veteran was knocked out of the match, as Jey and Jimmy Uso delivered a Superkick and threw him out of the top apron.

LA Knight

LA Knight has been one of the highly over wrestlers for over three years now. The Megastar has backed it up with his promos, storytelling, character work, and an improved in-ring work. Naturally, fans have demanded for his push time and again, only to be disappointed.

At the Battle Royal, WWE had a good chance to push Knight to the title scenario. Letting him win would have done a huge deal to his career. The star wrestler was the last individual to have pinned Seth Rollins, which would have made sense for him to face Punk. However, he was not booked to win, which led to a huge disappointment from the fans.
