4 Hidden Details From Money In The Bank 2025 WWE Fans Missed
John Cena & Logan Paul vs Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes WWE Money In The Bank 2025

Money In The Bank 2025 was a notable premium live event on the WWE calendar, crowning two new holders of the coveted Money In The Bank briefcase, with other matches taking place across the card too such as battles for both men’s and women’s Intercontinental Titles and a star-studded tag team main event. When looking across the show, there were multiple details, snippets of information, and fun facts that fans might well have missed.

We will take a look at some of these details, including a strange tradition of Triple H’s booking, a scenario that played out for the first time in three years, Money In The Bank records, and more.

El Grande Americano & Chad Gable Had A First Time Ever

The First Man To Compete Under Two Gimmicks In Money In The Bank

  • Chad Gable competed in the 2024 Money In The Bank match.
  • El Grande Americano competed in 2025.
  • No one else has wrestled with two gimmicks in the men’s match

The Money In The Bank ladder match has been around for two decades, but the men’s ladder match at the 2025 PLE saw a first time ever take place. El Grande Americano is Chad Gable’s new alter ego gimmick, and this marks the first time someone has competed in the Money In The Bank ladder match under two different and distinct gimmicks - El Grande Americano in 2025, and Chad Gable in 2024.

Those who potentially could’ve done in the past included Cody Rhodes - though Stardust never appeared in the match, Booker T - who only competed as ‘King Booker’, among others. In the women’s match, Nikki Cross appeared as both her original gimmick and as Nikki ASH, but this is the first time ever for the men’s match. Given the lengthy history of this match, it wouldn’t be a shock if fans missed this detail from the show.

Triple H’s Money In The Bank Main Events

Tag Team Main Events Only At The PLE

The Money In The Bank PLE features two ladder matches which serve as the main draw for the show. However, the Triple H era has never had one of these ladder matches headline the show - a trend that has once again continued in 2025, which is a detail some fans may have missed. In 2023, Triple H’s first Money In The Bank PLE, the show was headlined by The Bloodline Civil War tag team match between Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa and The Usos. In 2024, Solo Sikoa’s new Bloodline teamed up to take on Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton & Kevin Owens. Finally, in 2025, Cody Rhodes & World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso battled WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul.

In the past, it wasn’t unheard of for a non-ladder match to headline the show, but 10 times over the years a ladder match has in fact main evented. For some reason, Triple H doesn’t like doing this.

Lyra Valkyria Vs. Becky Lynch Was A Rare Triple H Era PLE Rematch For Women

Valkyria & Lynch Wrestled At Two PLEs In A Row

  • The last time a direct rematch at a back-to-back PLE happened for the women was in 2022.
  • Bianca Belair & Bayley were the last pairing that had this honor.
  • Triple H’s short match cards are the reason for this.

Lyra Valkyria put her Intercontinental Title on the line against Becky Lynch at Money In The Bank 2025, which marked back-to-back matches between the pair on PLE, following on from their Backlash match. Many fans may have missed that this is the first time in three years that the same women’s match has appeared at back-to-back PLEs, and only the second time ever in the Triple H era.

The last time that the same exact matchup happened for the women’s division on two PLEs in a row was in 2022 when Bianca Belair and Bayley wrestled at both Extreme Rules and Crown Jewel. This may very well be a product of Triple H’s very short PLE cards, but it has happened way more often for the men, with examples including Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker, and several others too. This just goes to show how notable the feud between Lynch and Valkyria has been in recent months.

No Women’s Winner Has Waited Longer Than Naomi

Naomi’s Win Was A Notable One

Naomi WWE Money In The Bank 2025
  • Naomi won the women’s Money In The Bank.
  • This was her fifth Money In The Bank match.
  • No female winner has waited longer to win this matchup.

Naomi stepped into the 2025 event to compete in her fifth Money In The Bank ladder match - equaling a record for the women’s division. Naomi would win the match, making her the winner with the longest wait to win the briefcase, needing to go through five matches before emerging victorious.

Over on the men’s side, there is only one comparable individual - Drew McIntyre, who also won the Money In The Bank briefcase on his fifth attempt. There could of course be others to overtake Naomi eventually, but fans may certainly have missed this current and notable record she now holds.
