AAA Alianzas 2025 Results & Reactions

Live from Mexico City, the AAA Alianzas 2025 card showcased talent from both WWE and NXT alongside the promotion’s own roster as they close in on six months since ‘AAA Worlds Collide’ this past summer. Tonight delivers on a versatile showing, pitting the best in-ring action that these promotions have to offer while simultaneously testing the waters on North American talent like Ethan Page and Chelsea Green.

Still, the blueprint (or ‘green print’) has been clear since these cross-promotional alliances were drawn, and the drawing power of Dominik Mysterio is as clear as it is monetarily valuable. You stack the card with amazingly talented superstars showing out underneath an event topped by Dom—in this case, at the Gimnasio Olimpico Juan de La Barrera.

DOMINIK MYSTERIO & EL GRANDE AMERICANO VS EL HIJO Del VIKINGO & DRAGON LEE

This match was built over several months of cross-promotional booking among some of the hardest-working superstars in both companies, with El Grande Americano and Dom putting in the work across multiple languages. Tonight’s match certainly benefited from Dom’s recent booking with John Cena and the announcement that they’ll run in back in a week’s time at WWE Survivor Series: WARGAMES.

The optics of this match were difficult to translate for fans who were bridging over from WWE, because Dom is booked as a heel among WWE fans. But the problematic booking with Vikingo has been telling since before the summer launch, as fans have had a hard time seeing him as a bona fide face.

Vikingo played into the heel antics tonight, and that caused turmoil with his own partner—choosing to tag in with a kick to Dragon Lee’s hand in one instance. The action was tight and plentiful, but the expected shenanigans would prove too much for Vikingo and Lee to coexist as a unit.

In fact, Vikingo walked out on his partner and left Lee vulnerable as the current Mega champion Mysterio picked up the pinfall victory once Lee was completely abandoned. Dom grabbed the mic and decided to take full credit for a win that was all but gifted to him.

That is when The Lucha Bros, Penta and Rey Fenix, showed up on the big screen and cut a backstage promo on Dom and El Grande Americano, challenging them to a tag match and reuniting the brothers separated by brands.

CHELSEA GREEN & ETHAN PAGE(c) VS. LOLA VICE & MR. IGUANA—AAA Mixed Tag Team Title

Mr. Iguana has been over since the moment WWE fans were able to set their sights on him, and the work that his opponents, U.S. champion Chelsea Green and NXT North American titlist (together the Triple A Mixed Tag champs), have been on a social media campaign and promotional run the likes of which wrestling has never seen. That gave this match a heightened sense of importance and a spotlight that pinpointed the value of this cross-promotional booking.

Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana have formed quite the mixed tag, but they never really posed a threat to the ‘North American’ heels. Page and Green were not just physically imposing, but they were also willing to dig deep (and bend rules) to get this ‘dub’ in the books.

In the final moments of the match, Vice was able to stop Green from using the kendo stick, only to find herself in its direct path as Page ripped it away from her. Just as Vice was about to be struck, Mr. Iguana chivalrously stepped in the path of Page’s violent swing, which directly led to the champs successfully retaining via pinfall. During the post-match, Jijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr. came down to put hands on Page and further their feud, but Green helped the heel to get the upper hand to close out the segment.

OCTAGON JR. VS AXIOM VS JE’VON EVANS

This was the ‘banger spot,’ a position during these specialty Triple A shows where they expect the opener to just go all out to set the high-paced tone for the evening. In this case, it was a triple threat match showcasing the future of one promotion and the workhorses of the others.

Evans has been in heavy use between his work in the TNA/NXT cross-promotional storyline and his recent ‘goodwill’ showing in a losing effort against Gunther in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament to decide John Cena’s final opponent on December 13th. Gunther is the odds-on favorite to win the tourney and face Cena, but Evans had fans at home and in attendance believing he could just maybe pull off the major upset.

However, Evans redeemed his loss to Gunther by picking up the big win tonight when he caught Axiom with a huge cutter that countered a high-risk maneuver. It was a huge moment that nearly got away from Evans, but he was able to keep Axiom in his reach to secure the pinfall victory.

LOS PSYCHO CIRCUS VS EL OJO—8-Man Tag Team Match

The group dynamic is an important one in Lucha Libre, and tonight’s 8-man tag offered up exactly what fans expect from this dynamic. There were chairs, trash cans, and kendo sticks galore as each man took turns taking bumps and shots from foreign objects.

There was a huge 4-man tag move from Los Psycho that brought the crowd to its feet as they suplexed El Mesias and Azul from the top turnbuckle. The climax of the match saw Psycho Clown himself land a gnarly Spanish Fly from the top to pick up the win for Los Psycho Circus.

In the post-match, Lost Psycho Circus called out Wyatt Sicks, and the Uncle Howdy-led faction responded immediately via pre-recorded video vignette. The match was officially booked for December 20 in Guadalajara as Howdy said the clowns should prepare themselves for a ‘war of carnage.’
