Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Shares Heartfelt Tribute For Hulk Hogan
The wrestling universe lost a legend this week in Hulk Hogan. He sadly passed away on Thursday in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 71. Hogan was undoubtedly one of, if not the most influential wrestler in the history of the WWE. With that said, countless current and former wrestlers posted heartfelt messages about him on social media over the past 48 hours. On Friday afternoon, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally released a statement on Hogan's legacy. Johnson's tribute to Hogan started off with a beautiful memory from his childhood. He then talked about their iconic match at Wrestlemania X8 in 2002. "Rest in Peace, Terry Bollea aka The Immortal Hulk Hogan," Johnson wrote on Instagram. "To millions of little kids you were a childhood hero - myself included. In 1984, I gave you your 'HULKSTER' headband back, in the locker room in Madison Square Garden - I was the lucky kid caught it when you threw it in the crowd. You were wrestling 'Mr Wonderful,' Paul Orndorff that night in the main event. You were shocked and so happy after the match because you told me that was your very last headband and if it weren’t for me, you’d have no way of getting that exact one made again. You promised me that you would get more made and give me a Hulkster headband of my own as a thank you gift. "A month later in Madison Square Garden, you did just that. You kept your word, with a handshake and a 'thanks kid.' And that meant the world to that little 12 year old boy. Just 17 years later, and still a kid at the age of 29 years old — I’m standing in the middle of the ring and facing you - one of my wrestling heroes in the main event of WRESTLEMANIA." Johnson concluded his tribute for Hogan with a few more touching words. "From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever… Thank you for the house, brother… Thank you, for the house. RIP Terry Bollea aka Hulk Hogan." Hogan's legacy in the ring will live on for generations to come, make no mistake about it.
‘Swamp People’ Stars Announce Devastating Death & Fans Are Heartbroken
The cast of the History Channel reality series Swamp People are mourning the loss of one of their own. On Saturday, July 26, “Little” Willie Edwards revealed via Facebook that his grandfather, Junior Edwards, died. “Rest easy pawpaw,” he captioned a photo of Junior out on the water with “Little” Willie’s father, Willie Edwards. “I know your probably running your hoop nets or doing something crazy inside those pearly gates…you will be extremely missed pawpaw we love you more than anything!!! Until we meet again .” “Little” Willie did not share further details about his grandfather’s death, including the date and cause. Hundreds of fans offered their condolences for the TV star and his family in the post’s comments. “I’m so so sorry to hear this! Loosing a daddy is incredibly hard! Y’all are in my prayers!!!” one Facebook user wrote, while another added, “Man I hate hearing this! Prayers for your family. Such a good man.” “Prayers for your family. We loved watching your paw paw when he was on,” wrote another fan. “May he rest in Heaven. We loved watching your paw paw when he was on. A different person shared, “NO! I loved watching your Dad and him in the swamps. Rest easy.” “Little” Willie’s costar, Ronnie Adams, reacted to Junior’s death by sharing a photo of himself with Willie and his two sons via Instagram. “Praying for the Edward’s in this time of need!!! Rest in peace Junior!!!” he wrote alongside the snap. Swamp People‘s Ashley “Deadeye” Jones also paid tribute to Junior via Instagram. “The world lost a legend! Mr Junior Edwards passed away! Please be in prayer for the family!” she captioned a selfie of the two of them on Saturday. “He was one of the greatest alligator hunters there is! He was real hardcore outdoorsman! I watched this man bring in MONSTER gators at Duffys Gas Station in Pierre Part LA. This was after a looooong day for both of us and you can tell it! Glad we took a second for a pic!” Junior was part of the original cast of Swamp People when the series premiered in 2010. The show follows groups of Louisiana natives in the Atchafalaya Basin during alligator hunting season. He was among several cast members who exited the show following Season 6 in 2015, and clarified rumors about his departure via Facebook that same year. “I see a bunch of posts saying that a certain family was saying that we asked for more money and thats why we are not on the show anymore,” he wrote at the time. “To clear up gossip and BS. We never asked for anything. Only communication we had with the production company was when we were told that we would not be on the show any more. We have made our living off the bayou all our lives. We dont need a camera stuck in our faces to do that like some people.” Junior later made his return to Swamp People during Season 12 in 2021. “Surprise… look who’s back,” he quipped in a February 2021 Facebook post.
Aaron Boone Breaks Silence With 2-Word Update on Aaron Judge
The New York Yankees have had an up-and-down season throughout the 2025 campaign thus far. At this point in the season with the MLB trade deadline just a few days away, the team holds a 56-47 record. With that record, the Yankees are in second place in the race for the American League East division race. They are now 5.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays and have lost two straight games. Unfortunately, some very concerning news has come up regarding superstar outfielder Aaron Judge. Judge will be missing Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to an elbow injury. There is still no telling just how serious the injury is, but there is obvious concern within the organization. Aaron Boone, New York's manager, offered a highly disturbing two-word update about Judge. “Obviously concerned,” Boone said. He also revealed that Judge will be undergoing imaging to determine the extent of the injury. Should Judge be forced to miss any significant amount of time due to the elbow injury, the Yankees would take a major hit. They no longer have a backup superstar like Juan Soto to take over the load that Judge carries. Throughout the 2025 MLB season thus far, Judge has played in 103 games and has played at an insanely high level. He has hit 37 home runs to go along with 85 RBI's, while also slashing .342/.449/.711. Those numbers are irreplaceable for New York. Expect to hear more concrete news about Judge in the near future. He is undergoing testing, but Boone's comments about being extremely concerned are not going to help Yankees fans find peace until the results are known.
'In what world does this make sense?’: Oilers and $63M forward
According to some, throw out the idea that the Edmonton Oilers should pursue Max Pacioretty. A veteran forward who has earned over $63 million over the course of his NHL career has yet to sign an NHL contract and was recently mentioned in a post by David Staples as a possible fit. In a recent post, the Journal noted, “All of the top NHL unrestricted free agents have already signed contracts, but there’s one big name player still available that makes good sense for the Edmonton Oilers to pursue.” Responses have been varied, with a few quite vocal about the Oilers not following Staples’ advice. “In what world does this make sense?????” writes a commenter on a recent post for The Hockey Writers. Another commenter wrote, “Pacioretty is a good journeyman player but he is injury prone now, late in his career. Oilers might be lucky to get 40 games out of him. They should look elsewhere instead of taking a chance on Patches.” Tyler Yaremchuk of Oilers Nation chimed in and said, “He scored five goals in 37 games last year with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Can’t stay healthy, very old, very slow.” Yaremchuk then went on a rant, listing several Oilers forwards who would be better than Pacioretty. What About Pacioretty on a PTO? Is there any reason that a team that is looking to get younger and faster, and move out depth pieces that were older and less productive than expected, would revert back to last summer’s strategy? It seems like an odd choice on the surface. Something would have to happen that would make giving Pacioretty a look risk-free. That means only a PTO. Even at that point, should he agree, it would require him to be willing to sign a two-way contract for the league minimum.
