AEW Dynamite Results

  • Kenny Omega & BroDido defeated Young Bucks & Josh Alexander
  • Kyle Fletcher (c) defeated Orange Cassidy for the TNT Championship

Young Bucks Plan Their Entrance

Matt Jackson told Nick Jackson and Brandon Cutler he had an idea for a big, spectacular entrance for the opening match. Nick told Cutler that he was going to spend some money at the Hard Rock Casino. Surprisingly, Nick lost all their money in the establishment once Matt came back.

Kenny Omega & BroDido (Brody King & Bandido) defeated The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) & Josh Alexander

(Spectacular return for Omega after taking some time off following the 2300 Arena shows. If he wanted, he could slot in well in trios action alongside BroDido.)

Due to their previous segment, the Bucks’ name graphic read: “The Broke Bucks.”

Omega locked up with Alexander, leading to the latter escaping the former’s grasp atop his shoulders. Bandido would later coordinate with Omega to lay out the Bucks. They then attempted to get King to do this Macarena-esque dance. Alexander, back in the ring, suffered King’s full weight following a slam by Bandido. The Bucks took control, using their legs and jumps to keep everyone horizontal.  Intercepting Omega, Alexander coordinated with the Bucks to quell his momentum.

King rescued Omega from the Bucks to a hot tag, and Bandido joined in the fun. Alexander caught Bandido mid-air, dropping him to the ring apron. Omega planted the Bucks’ nether regions on the top rope and followed suit with a Terminator Dive. Don Callis skedaddled seeing Omega approach him. Nick survived Bandido’s 21-plex. They aimed for a Piledriver on Bandido, but his partners came to the save—all three landed a synchronized piledriver on their foes.

Alexander hurled Omega around the ring in a series of German suplexes. He struggled with King, however, so the Bucks assisted with a superkick to send the giant hurtling. Nick and Matt set Omega for a Driver, but did not count on King coming in for the save. Omega sent them away with a Snapdragon Suplex each. Blasting Alexander with a V-Trigger, the Best Bout Machine hit another and ended the match with his patented One-Winged Angel for the pinfall.

Post-match: Jurassic Express Battle, and Andrade El Idolo Returned

Omega and the Bucks seemingly looked ready to make amends. Alexander put this situation to bed, assaulting Omega. Jurassic Express’s music hit as Jack Perry and Luchasaurus trekked to the ring. Luchasaurus hit the Bucks with a double-chokeslam. Perry kneed Alexander so Omega could throw him with a Snapdragon Suplex. Omega and Perry argued, the former still irate over the former Jungle Boy’s alliance with The Elite. Jurassic Express brawled Alexander and the Bucks toward the back.

Omega cut a promo thanking the AEW fans for the 6 years of loyalty. He also thanked the new fans and did his “goodbye and goodnight” routine when the lights went dark. Back in the light, a man wearing a suit took off his black mask, revealing recent WWE-departee Andrade El Idolo. He knocked Omega out and aligned with an ecstatic Don Callis.

Mark Briscoe backstage promo

Still vengeful over MJF’s treatment of him over the past few months, Briscoe celebrated the fact that he got his due comeuppance. He also touted the love and respect among him and his Conglomeration members.

Kyle Fletcher (c) defeated Orange Cassidy for the TNT Championship

Cassidy began his usual routine of aloof attitude, but his shenanigans faltered upon a failed roll-up. Baiting Fletcher to the outside, Cassidy stole a temporary comeback, broken by an errant kick from the champion. Though he got the better of Cassidy, Fletcher was showered with “You still suck” chants. Hands in pockets, Cassidy made a red-faced and spirited resurgence. Tornado-DDT flung Fletcher to the center of the ring. Fletcher thwarted a second Tornado-DDT attempt, yet two counter DDTs nearly ended his reign.

The two battled between a Beach Break and a piledriver, which seesawed into roll-ups. Fletcher swiftly followed with a Spinning Tombstone. Hoping to send the challenger down with a vertical suplex, Fletcher dropped to Stundog Millionaire. Atop a corner, Cassidy headbutted his way free of the Protostar. “Hologram” rushed to the ring in a cloak, seemingly to help Cassidy. Fletcher finished Cassidy off with a Turnbuckle Brainbuster.

Post-match: Paragon and Mark Briscoe to the Rescue

Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong sprinted to Cassidy’s side. The Don Callis Family crept out to “Hologram” and Fletcher’s side. Removing the blue and green mask, Clon revealed a black and red one, with his torso adorned with tattoos. The arena glitched out during this.

Mercedes Mone Celebrates Longest-Reigning TBS Championship

Renee Paquette congratulated Mone on her longstanding title reign and 6-year Anniversary of AEW. Savoring her upcoming appearance at Daily’s Place in Florida on October 8, Mone declared she’d face a local talent but didn’t specify who. She shifted focus to the women’s tag team division, wondering who she should team with. Harley Cameron, with her Mercedes Mone puppet, approached, but Mone vehemently opposed this.
