AJ Lee’s Best Feuds in the WWE

Kaitlyn is one of the first women who comes to mind when thinking of the history of AJ Lee. The friendship and feud between these two women helped bring popularity to women’s wrestling. They were wrestling when women didn’t get much television time; these two demanded it. The fans wanted it. They never disappointed anytime they were on screen together. 

The duo did their job and got the fans to feel something, either making them laugh in promos or cringe during matches after a brutal hit. The story that Lee and Kaitlyn had was also one that was more in-depth than any woman was getting at the time. Along with the various segments they would recieve from matches to many backstage segments. 

The two went from being best friends to enemies, and to a frenemies stage. There were so many layers to it that it was hard not to be entertained. They always followed up their words with a great match. 

WWE Payback 2013 was the event where AJ Lee defeated Kaitlyn to win her first WWE Divas Championship. The crowd was heavily behind them as it turned out to be one of the best matches of both of their careers.

Paige

Paige was another woman with whom Lee had a frenemy relationship. Their feud began immediately after Paige made her main roster debut on Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 30, where she defeated AJ Lee to win the Divas Championship. 

They had a back-and-forth feud and friendship since that moment. Paige would often imitate Lee in the ring and try to play mind games with the master herself. Lee would ultimately win her title back from Paige on the June 30, 2014, edition of Monday Night Raw to become a two time Divas Champion. A few months later, at Night of Champions 2014, AJ Lee defeated both Nikki Bella and Paige to become a three-time WWE Divas Champion.

Paige and Lee would later reunite for an unforgettable feud against The Bella Twins.

The Bella Twins

AJ Lee always had great feuds with Nikki and Brie Bella. Dating back to around 2013, when Lee had a feud with the entire Total Divas cast. This feud with the Total Divas stemmed from the fact that AJ Lee was different from the stereotypical “diva.” Fans would reasonate with Lee on many levels easily making her become a fan favorite. The story also became personal on various levels attacking one another’s lives, it kept fans drawn in. 

Lee defended her championship various times against the twins in great matches. Some matches that stand out are the one where AJ Lee faced Nikki Bella at WWE TLC 2014 and the one that I had previously mentioned at Night of Champions in 2014 against Nikki Bella and Paige. 

However, the one that many fans still think of is the match that occurred at WrestleMania 31. This was Lee’s last WrestleMania as her last match in the WWE took place on the following Monday Night Raw. At this Mania, AJ Lee teamed up with frenemy Paige to take on the Bella Twins. Lee and Paige won after putting on a great match, with the audience very involved. 

These four women are pivotal as to why women’s wrestling is the way it is today. This match became more meaningful over time as we realized this.
