It sure does seem like the time is drawing near for a certain crazy chick to re-emerge in WWE. The writing is on the wall for CM Punk‘s wife, AJ Lee, to plot a return to WWE for the first time in over 3,800 days. And apparently her husband is having a hard time holding his horses.
Taking to Instagram, he posted a story featuring a cartoon devil that’s holding a pitchfork with the figure saying, “OKAY… YOU ASKED FOR IT!” While it could be cryptic for those who don’t follow wrestling, the ones who do are convinced that Punk’s latest tease has all but confirmed Lee’s returning imminently.

Moreover, the timing of the Chicagoan’s social media shenanigans succeeded tons of media reports that suggested his better half is set to make her in-ring return at Wrestlepalooza.
It was first reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful backed it up by adding that most people in WWE are considering it a foregone conclusion that the former Divas Champion will be at this week’s SmackDown.

The speculation regarding the ‘Geek Goddess’ showing up in Chicago started mounting after Punk was seen inquiring about the location of the show. The former AEW star had just come back from an insult-ridden segment with Becky Lynch on Raw.
Once Adam Pearce informed the 46-year-old that his arch nemesis Seth Rollins had left the building, Punk got to know about SmackDown being in his hometown this Friday. Soon, the expressions on Punk’s face said it all.
As mentioned above, CM Punk had a tumultuous segment with Becky Lynch on this week’s Raw. It came a day after she cost ‘The Second City Saint’ the world title match at Clash in Paris. Punk had Seth Rollins hoisted up on his shoulders for a GTS.
As he held the pose and milked it for a while, a hooded figure low-blowed him from behind. It was Lynch. That shocker of an ending rekindled the hopes of AJ Lee coming back to even up the odds for her dejected husband.
This Monday on Raw, after having waited enough for Rollins at the arrival spot backstage, Punk headed to the ring. The ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ announced taking over the show until the world champ made his way out.
After a while, Lynch came out tiptoeing to Rollins’ music. She went back and forth on the mic with the ‘Cookie Master’. The latter made it clear he had nothing to do with her unless she could summon up her husband. ‘The Man’ vented her spleen on Punk and asserted that he had affected her entire family since the day he walked out of WWE in 2014.
The real-life Phil Brooks would eventually regurgitate that he only wanted to settle the score with Rollins and quipped that it’s unfortunate Lynch had to marry such a bum. Punk, for a moment, hyped the massive appeal that encompasses the women’s IC Champion by saying she was a supremely talented woman.

Rollins finally turned up, but he kept himself confined to the entrance stage and yelled at Punk to talk trash to his face. When the latter tried to make a beeline for ‘The Architect’, Lynch came in his way every single time. That allowed Rollins to exit the arena. Punk was irate about it, and just when he turned back, Lynch unleashed a series of slaps and body shots on the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’.
At last, Punk told the ‘Irish Lass Kicker’ that he’ll make her husband pay for cashing in on him at SummerSlam and that Lynch would also regret putting her hands on him. That pretty much gave it away that Punk was finally bringing AJ Lee to the fold to handle the Irishwoman on his behalf. The stars are aligning for a mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza in what would be WWE’s debut on ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service.
