Three title changes, new challengers, a new title belt design, and a successful debut bannered DDT’s second of only two live shows this June. King of Kings Storm’s June Showdown brought the thunder yesterday at Korakuen Hall and delivered another fun show for the fans.

MxM Collection Victorious in DDT debut

AEW’s Mansoor and Mason Madden won their first of hopefully many more matches in DDT. They defeated the team of Kazuki Hirata and Danshoku Dieno, who even brought their dog, Haku, to corner them.

MxM Collection not only won their DDT debut, but they also did it in style by beating Dieno in his own game. They utilized Madden’s glutes throughout the match, which is Dieno’s signature style. They even won the match by doing a double team version of Dieno’s finisher, complete with Madden wearing Dieno’s ring trunks.

New Ironman Heavymetalweight Title and Champion

The Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship is their version of the Hardcore Championship. Their inaugural champion was Poison Sawada JULIE, who was introduced to the title by the same name in 2009. Thus, it’s only right that he unveiled its new design.

What he didn’t know was that Sanshiro Takagi had plans to crash the party. After the world saw the new belt, Takagi snuck into the ring to surprise attack JULIE with a stunner to become the new champion. Takagi is now the 1472nd champion in the title’s lineage.

Suzuki & Ueno Got The Win, But Aoki Gets The Last Laugh

Minoru Suzuki is set to defend the Universal Championship on July 13 against Shinya Aoki. During their tag match yesterday, Suzuki’s partner Yuki Ueno got the win for their team after beautifully countering Yuya Koroku’s kimura lock attempt into a pin. While Koroku was trying to get the submission, Aoki locked in a rear-naked choke on Suzuki and did not let go even after the bell rang.

Koroku and Aoki may have lost the match, but the latter sent a strong message to Suzuki by putting him to sleep. When he came to, Suzuki went berserk and began attacking anyone in sight. This match heated things up between champion and challenger before they battle in two weeks.

New Tag Team Champions

Yuki Iino and Yukio Naya put on a performance similar to their size to end The Astronauts’ KO-D Tag Team title run. Iino got his second reign as tag champion, helping Naya get his first. On the other hand, Fuminori Abe and Takuya Nomura lost the titles after five successful defenses.

After the match, Iino announced that their team will be called “The Apex.” Daichi Sato and Jun Akiyama then came out to challenge the new champions to a title match. The match was made official by General Manager Imabayashi and is scheduled for July 27.

Kazusada Higuchi is The New KO-D Openweight Champion

The show ended with 2025 King of DDT winner Kazusada Higuchi becoming a two-time KO-D Openweight Champion after beating Chris Brookes in the main event. Both men pushed each other to the limit, but Higuchi pulled through and won via his signature Brain Claw Slam. After the match, Chris himself wrapped the belt around Higuchi’s waist as a sign of respect, which the latter reciprocated by sharing beers with Chris and the rest of Schadenfreude International and Higuchi’s faction, Harimao.

Harashima then came out to challenge the new champion to a title match, and Higuchi gladly accepted. GM Imabayashi scheduled the match on July 13, stacking the show with both of DDT’s most coveted singles titles on the line that day.
