Every WWE Grand Slam Champion

John Cena has finally won the WWE Intercontinental Championship, making him a grand slam champion —a feat achieved by 22 male wrestlers and 6 female stars. Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio on RAW in his final appearance in Boston, Massachusetts, to claim the one title that had evaded his glistening trophy cabinet for 23 years.

The 48-year-old joins a stacked pool of legendary WWE talent who have won a world title, midcard title and tag team championship during their illustrious careers. So, who are the other 21 male stars who have achieved this astonishing feat?

WWE's Grand Slam Champions

The first-ever grand slam champion in WWE history was Shawn Michaels, who had claimed all the gold by September 1997, including the WWE (WWF) Championship in August 1994. WWE's chief content officer, Triple H, followed in his friend's footsteps in April 2001, before Kane, too, won every championship on offer.

Chris Jericho is a history-maker, and part of his grand slam triumph was becoming the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion by defeating The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, who don't feature on the list. Kurt Angle, the man Cena stepped up to on his SmackDown debut. The Olympic Gold Medalist's accomplishment came in October 2002, and he was joined by the late great Eddie Guerrero in February 2004.

Cena's greatest rival, Edge, had claimed all of WWE's gold by January 2006, and Rob Van Dam completed a grand slam when he beat the 17-time world champion at ECW One Night Stand in June of that year.

Booker T joined the grand slam winners' circle a month later, and so too did Jeff Hardy in December 2008, John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) in May 2009 and The Big Show in April 2012. The Miz claims to be must-see, and that includes his achievement list because he is the first double grand slam champion in history, his first win coming in July 2012.

It would take three years for a male wrestler to join those above, and it was Daniel Bryan who climbed the ladder at WrestleMania 31 to win the Intercontinental Championship and complete his grand slam, similarly to Cena. Of the three Shield members, it was Dean Ambrose who was the first grand slam champion, boasting this feat in August 2017, three months before Roman Reigns, who later became the most dominant Undisputed WWE Champion of the modern era.

Another of Cena's longtime rivals, Randy Orton, reached grand slam champion status in March 2018, and Seth Rollins followed suit at WrestleMania 32 when he claimed the IC title. Kofi Kingston had claimed each required title by April 2019, as did WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio a month later.

AJ Styles arrived in WWE much later than Cena, but by April 2021, he could call himself a grand slam champion after 'beating up John Cena'. Kevin Owens' Unified WWE Tag Team Championship victory with Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 39 gave the Prizefighter a grand slam, and Finn Balor's inaugural one-night Universal Championship reign meant he also joined the list in September 2023.

Who Are The Women's Grand Slam Champions?

WWE's increased focus on women's wrestling over the past decade has led to the addition of tag-team and midcard titles, including the Women's United States Championship and the Women's Intercontinental Championship. But they are not included in this list of WWE's female grand slam champions, with the titles required being the WWE Women's (RAW) or Women's World (SmackDown) Championship, the NXT Women's Championship, and the tag titles.

Bayley became the first-ever women's grand slam champion in May 2019 when she claimed the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships with Saha Banks, which made them the inaugural champions. Asuka joined her at the table in April 2020 before Banks completed her grand slam in October 2020.

Charlotte Flair, the most decorated women's wrestler in history, had won all the gold by December 2020, and it took three years before another member of the women's division achieved said feat. Rhea Ripley did so in April 2023 when she won the Women's World Championship against Charlotte at WrestleMania 39.

Becky Lynch is the latest female star to become a grand slam champion, doing so back in September 2023, and she's the first to claim one of the newly introduced midcard titles. She is the reigning Women's Intercontinental Champion, which means she's the inaugural grand slam winner of a new format including those championships.
