The Last Time is Now tournament has been going on for weeks, with many surprises and shocking victories. After several matches on Raw and SmackDown, four men advanced to the semifinals: Gunther, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa. Gunther faced Sikoa, and Uso faced Knight.
The winner of those two matches will face each other on the December 5, 2025, episode of SmackDown. John Cena will face the winner of that match on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The first match of the night was Uso vs. Knight. Would Uso’s fans lead him to victory, or would Knight shock everyone by pinning Uso?
Both matches were very anticipated leading up to the December 1 Raw. All four men have had great success this year. It was clear that they all deserved to face Cena in his final match. Uso and Knight going first made perfect sense. Given that the former always has audience participation in his entrance, he wasn’t going to accept a tired audience.
If he were going on later, they probably would be tired following their reactions to other wrestlers. Sure enough, the fans were very energetic as they cheered him on before he entered the ring. Knight’s entrance had a lot of audience support as well. His fans made themselves heard as he entered the ring.
The match was a good one, with both men giving it their all for the chance to advance to the finals. Uso thought he had the upper hand, though. After a failed pin attempt, he superkicked and speared Knight. Getting up on the top rope, he delivered a Uso Splash, applying the pin. After the two-count, Knight kicked out and did something smart.
He shifted his weight and pinned Uso while rolling onto his stomach. The strategy worked, as he successfully got the pin and moved on to the finals. After the match was over, Uso was devastated. He proceeded to have an epic meltdown as a result by flipping over the Prime drink cart and tossing the steel steps to the floor.
Afterwards, Jackie Redmond spotted him and wanted to talk. It would be perfectly understandable if he didn’t say anything and walked away. But he decided to take some time to speak to her. He said that he is to blame for his shocking loss. In addition, he said that Roman Reigns was right in saying that titles are better on him.
Right now, he has to live with his performance knowing that he let everyone down, especially his family and fans. The only question now is, where will he go from here?
