Jacob Fatu: Lone Lost Samoan Werewolf in WWE
WWE

Jacob Fatu has been on the downturn since losing his United States Championship to Solo Sikoa at WWE Night of Champions 2025. The former right-hand man to Sikoa has been nowhere to be found after his loss to the former Bloodline leader at SummerSlam 2025.

Jacob Fatu’s Rise and Fall in WWE

Jacob Fatu shocked the WWE Universe during the June 21, 2024, episode of SmackDown when he made his debut. He took out Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and the then-Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes. His interference helped Solo Sikoa in his match and the subsequent beatdown.

Fatu became a key member of Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline. He went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Tama Tonga. However, the Samoan Werewolf was forced to hand over the title to his group member, Tonga Loa, on Sikoa’s orders.

The rift between Fatu and Sikoa began at this moment, though it remained under wraps. Fatu lost multiple title opportunities due to interference from Sikoa and his group.

The real issues surfaced when Fatu won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41 by defeating LA Knight. Tensions escalated when Sikoa began speaking ill of his enforcer behind his back.

The current MFT leader defeated Fatu for the United States Championship at Night of Champions 2025, relegating Fatu to tag team matches. Fatu even lost a Steel Cage match for the United States Championship to Sikoa due to interference from the MFT group. The Samoan Werewolf has been absent from television since that premium live event.

What Went Wrong for WWE Superstar Jacob Fatu?

Jacob Fatu was once considered a main-event caliber performer. He notably took out Roman Reigns during the August 16, 2024, and September 13, 2024, episodes of SmackDown. Cody Rhodes even offered him a world title opportunity last year.

Fans were eager to see Fatu compete for the world championship, but WWE chose to position him as Solo Sikoa’s enforcer and henchman. This role limited him to following orders, stifling opportunities to showcase his full skill set.

WWE had a chance to elevate Fatu, with reports suggesting he would receive a significant push. However, recent developments indicate that the former United States Champion is unlikely to receive the opportunities fans once anticipated. The company further contributed to his downfall by pairing him with Jimmy Uso in tag team matches.

What Can WWE Do to Fix the Jacob Fatu Situation?

WWE can capitalize on Jacob Fatu’s absence by airing vignettes that highlight his desire for revenge. The company could incorporate his felony background, portraying him as someone willing to risk everything, even incarceration, to achieve his goals. A similar approach was used with Dominik Mysterio, whose storyline arrest became part of his entrance at WrestleMania.

In the meantime, Solo Sikoa and his MFT group could continue wreaking havoc on Sami Zayn and other SmackDown superstars. Jacob Fatu could return as a rebel opposing Sikoa and his faction, generating a massive reaction from the WWE Universe. This storyline would revitalize Fatu’s career, propelling him toward the main-event scene or an anticipated match with Bron Breakker down the road.
