John Cena Hints at Involvement in Mysterious WWE Teaser Angle
via WWE/IMAGN

John Cena may have dropped a clue about who is behind WWE's video teasers, suggesting the arrival or return of a wrestler or a group ahead of RAW tonight (October 27). The rumor mill has been running wild with names such as a returning Santos Escobar or Chris Jericho.

John Cena Joins WWE in Teasing Fans

John Cena has a habit of creating curiosity online with his Instagram posts, posting one picture every day that means something to him. Today, he opted to re-post one of the four teaser videos of a pair of feet walking, and his choice of which shoes to post could be a hint.

The 17-time world champion opted for loafers, which may point to someone like Gunther, whom Cena has been heavily rumoured to face in his final match on December 13th at Saturday Night's Main Event. The other option could be Tony D'Angelo, given the NXT star is an Italian mobster who is expected to be called up.

The fact that there are four separate videos with four different pairs of shoes walking has fans believing that it is a group, which ties into the Angelo theory. But Gunther has led a stable before, arriving in WWE as the leader of Imperium which included Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Gunther has been absent from WWE TV since SummerSlam when he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk in the main event. He underwent nose surgery but is likely to be back on our screens before SNME if he is Cena's final opponent, as expected.

There's no word on when fans can expect to see the big reveal of who is behind the mysterious teasers. But Cena's post has perhaps now made the Ring General the frontrunner.

WWE's Latest Upload Throws Everyone Off

WWE has its audience playing Inspector Gadget, trying to work out clues in the videos posted on its X account. The one Cena reposted was the first of four, and the fourth has confused fans because the shoes on display differ from those in the first three.

The fourth video shows someone walking in a pair of jeans and black leather boots, a contrasting style to the classy look of video one. There are some who feel it may point to Brock Lesnar, given he has donned similar attire over the years and since returning at SummerSlam in August.

Lesnar has been off TV since Wrestlepalooza on September 20th, when he defeated Cena in somewhat of a squash match. It's fair to say fans won't be too enthused to see the Beast be involved in the angle.
