WWE SummerSlam was effectively Karrion Kross and Scarlett's last day in WWE. Although their contracts expired a week later and neither was renewed, the expiration of their deals came as a surprise to them. Kross hinted in a recent interview that big creative plans were being worked on behind the scenes for after their loss to Sami Zayn. They simply went away, and he believes they will be given to someone else.
Killer Kross (Karrion Kross) says his post-WWE SummerSlam creative was big.“The creative we were supposed to have on Monday Night Raw got killed on Sunday. The creative involved other people. I would love to tell people that want to know, but that idea could still be salvaged… pic.twitter.com/ZSh4Y1q31D— Fightful Wrestling (@Fightful) September 2, 2025
Speaking to Denise Salcedo os Instinct Culture, Kross was asked about the creative plans WWE had in mind coming out of the event. He didn't get into detail about what those plans were, but did tease that it was big and fans would have loved it.
“The creative we were supposed to have on Monday Night Raw got killed on Sunday. The creative involved other people. I would love to tell people who want to know, but that idea could still be salvaged for that other person involved, so I don’t want to jack up their creative thinking about it, but it was something really big, and it was something people would have enjoyed. I can tell you that right now. Maybe one day we can do that creative and we can revisit this conversation."
As for who WWE might be thinking about running the angle or storylines with, that much is unclear. WWE may choose to wait, assuming there is any interest in bringing Kross back. If not, he seemed to think the creative ideas were too good not to use them.
Matt Cardona, who is feuding with Kross in GCW, responded to the post from Fightful, citing Kross' comments. Cardona wrote, "He was going to be in catering, eating salt and pepper chicken. He is a liar."
Even though Kross and Scarlett weren't renewed with WWE, both remain a package deal and are still quite busy wrestling. They have several bookings on their calendar already, and it will be intriguing to see if that catches the attention of their former employer.
Fans are still baffled by WWE's decision not to bring back Kross. He was gaining so much support from the fans, and his merchandise was selling extremely well.
