Liv Morgan’s WWE Return Timeline Revealed Amid Movie Filming
Steve Lanava / USA TODAY NETWORK / USA TODAY NETWORK
  • Liv Morgan nears WWE return after filming a Hollywood movie.
  • WWE not confirmed her exact TV return date, likely missed one Raw.
  • Morgan's character never mentioned relinquishing WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

WWE star Liv Morgan is nearing her return to television after stepping away to film a major Hollywood movie. According to Fightful Select, Morgan is scheduled to wrap filming on Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo on May 16 and will return to the United States the following day. Barring any issues or reshoots, it means Morgan will have been away for less than a month.

Morgan Was Not Gone Long Enough To Change Storyline Plans

Morgan, who currently holds the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Raquel Rodriguez, requested time off last week to participate in the Neon-produced film. WWE worked it into her on-camera character and creative, never mentioning that she would need to relinquish the titles. As per her on-air request, she needed to prioritize the project and her time away, which WWE granted. She traveled to Japan, where she has been on location since early May.

The movie was a massive opportunity for her, and Raw GM Adam Pearce said that WWE higher-ups had approved everything. As part of their approval of her role in the film, the company was allowing Morgan to fulfill her movie obligations and did not make alternate arrangements for the belts. The titles wouldn't be defended regularly, but despite the old rule that the titles should be defended every 30 days, that's an old-school rule WWE no longer pays much attention to.

The company uses that "unwritten" rule when it benefits them. In this case, Morgan’s crossover into Hollywood was a win for WWE.

The Exact Return Date To Television Is Not Official

While WWE has not confirmed the exact date of Morgan’s on-screen return, the timeline suggests she will miss at least one more episode of Monday Night Raw. The earliest she could appear back on WWE television is the May 19 edition of Raw. If WWE can have her show up as a surprise appearance, it would result in a big pop for the Judgment Day star.

Even without an exact date, fans can expect Morgan back in action in less than two weeks.

Will Morgan and Rodriguez pick up where they left off — or will Liv’s time away lead to a new twist in their championship reign? The WWE Universe may find out as early as May 19.
