Matt Menard Signs New AEW Contract Through 2030
Matt Menard in AEW
  • AEW extends Matt Menard's contract until 2030, securing him on the roster.
  • Menard has transitioned to a commentator role in AEW, showcasing his charisma.
  • Menard, previously of WWE's Ever-Rise, highlights time in Jericho Appreciation Society.

AEW won’t be losing Matt Menard from its roster. “Daddy Magic” has signed a new contract with the company. Menard has been with AEW since making his debut in August 2021, alongside Angelo Parker, on the Homecoming episode of Dynamite.

How Long Is The Contract?

According to Fightful Select, Menard’s contract will last until the summer of 2030. Before getting his contract extended, it had originally expired at All In on July 12. Matt’s role in AEW has changed since his debut. He took on a role as a commentator, which he’s definitely charismatic enough for.

Menard has only wrestled a handful of matches so far in 2025. His last match was on the April 12 episode of AEW Collision, where he and Angelo Parker lost to FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood). Before that, Menard last wrestled on the February 19 episode of Collision, when he, Parker, and Daniel Garcia lost to the Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta) in an AEW World Trios Title match.

Matt Menard’s AEW Career

Before coming to AEW, both he and Parker wrestled in WWE under the tag team name Ever-Rise. They signed with WWE in January 2019 and were released from their contracts on June 25, 2021. A month later, they would make their AEW debut, teaming with Daniel Garcia to face Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, and Eddie Kingston. Since their debut, Menard and Parker have gone by the tag team name 2point0.

One of his career highlights was joining the Jericho Appreciation Society. The stable, which was created after Inner Circle disbanded, lasted from early 2022 to the summer of 2023. At the 2022 Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Menard, Parker, Jericho, Garcia, and Jake Hager defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley), Eddie Kingston, and Ortiz and Santana in a brutal Anarchy in the Arena match. When the JAS disbanded, it was just 2Point0 and Garcia. On screen, Menard was a mentor to Garcia.

Besides working as an occasional commentator for the now-defunct AEW Dark, Menard’s first big role in the position was for another canceled show, AEW Rampage. He has Jericho to thank for that, because Jericho stepped down from the role to focus on his in-ring work. Since then, fans have heard Menard’s voice on both Collision and Dynamite.
