On August 4, 2025, in the episode of Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch ran into Natalya and the Alpha Academy. Words were exchanged, and a match was set up the following week. Lynch, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, beat Maxxine Dupri in five and a half minutes. It was a reasonable effort by Dupri, but she couldn’t get the job done.
They went their separate ways until nearly two months later. The September 29, 2025, Raw saw them cross paths again. Lynch insulted her and her wrestling ability, while she welcomed the idea of another match with her. It was to be a non-title match, unlike their last encounter. Was the result going to be the same, or would she shock everyone and win?
The October 4, 2025, Raw saw Lynch and Dupri in a rematch of their previous fight. Even though it wasn’t for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, a win for her would be impressive for many reasons. She’s been used primarily as the Alpha Academy’s valet/manager since her introduction. Otis, Akira Tozawa, and formerly Chad Gable have done the majority of the wrestling.
Beating Lynch, title or no title, is a pretty nice feat due to her immense experience in the ring. Everyone treats the Alpha Academy as the jobber squad, but a win for her could change all that. The match was pretty even at the start, with both women giving it their all in hopes of a victory. Lynch got a good crowd reaction, but she got a great response.
She tried to pin Lynch with a roll-up and an ankle lock, but was unsuccessful. Even so, the crowd acted like she had just pinned Lynch for the title. They were really behind her the whole match. Her second time attempting the roll-up pin resulted in the crowd acting the same way. Lynch dragged her out of the ring and stood on the announcer’s table. The crowd booed her, seemingly ignoring the referee’s count. As she continued taunting everyone,
Dupri got herself back in the ring. As soon as Lynch was done yelling and boasting, it was too late. The referee was done with the ten-count and signalled for the bell. Dupri had beaten Lynch with a countout instead of a pin. A win is a win, no matter if it’s by pinfall, countout, or disqualification. Given the result, it’s clear Lynch will want some retribution against her. But for now, Maxxine Dupri has evened the score against Becky Lynch.
