Maxxine Dupri’s Big WWE Raw Win Could Shake Up Alpha Academy

The Alpha Academy was created back in 2020 when Chad Gable decided to coach Otis. The two had success, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship once. Over time, they added Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa to the group. As more members joined, Gable’s frustrations grew as well. After months of berating the other three members, he quit to form American Made with the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. Since then, Otis, Tozawa, and Dupri have basically been jobbers.

They’re entertaining to the crowd, but they don’t win much. However, the October 6, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw could end up being an important date in the faction’s history. Even though it was a count-out, Dupri beat Becky Lynch in a non-title match. The crowd reaction and athletic ability shown by her could be the key to unlocking her full potential, as well as Otis’ and Tozawa’s.

Dupri Can Show Management Her Abilities

As the manager/valet of the Alpha Academy, Dupri doesn’t really wrestle that much. Whenever people online talk about the lack of house shows, they always bring up how those would help wrestlers like Dupri get more reps in the ring. Without them, they have to rely on getting booked on TV to get better. Her match against Lynch should be a wake-up call that she should be wrestling more. The crowd’s reaction to her was incredible, with everyone loving her every move.

When she nearly pinned Lynch, everyone was roaring. They recognize that she’s talented and should get a chance to wrestle more. If the match wasn’t a fluke, and she can take someone like Lynch to the limit, she needs to be on TV wrestling. Presenting the Alpha Academy as a serious threat could get them out of jobber status and into serious matches.

Otis and Tozawa Deserve Serious Runs in WWE

When Rusev came back to WWE after WrestleMania 41, his first opponents were the Alpha Academy. He said that he wanted to fix wrestlers as a way of reminding them who they were. Everyone knows that Otis and Tozawa are incredible wrestlers stuck in comedy jobber roles. It seems like Rusev’s intervention was going to help them.

However, that wasn’t the case, and the two of them are still the likeable comedic guys. If Dupri gets a chance to show she’s a serious threat, the other two members of the Alpha Academy need to get that same treatment. Otis, in his Heavy Machinery days, and Tozawa, in his days in Japan, were serious wrestlers who showed no mercy against opponents. Sure, they had silly moments, but they were focused on winning. Elevating them will not only help them out, but the Alpha Academy as a whole.

Alpha Academy Should Be a Serious Group Moving Forward

When Dupri beat Lynch on Raw, the reaction was split. Some people were genuinely surprised she had that much talent in her. On the other hand, some people knew she had that talent all along. She didn’t get a chance to show it because she doesn’t really wrestle. With the near absence of house shows, TV time is essential to getting better and getting over the crowd.

That reaction should not only help her out, but Otis and Tozawa as well. WWE knows how talented they are, so they should take what happened on Monday and run with it. Push Dupri as a surprise dark horse and get Otis and Tozawa out of the comedy jobber routine. This should be a sign that the three of them deserve better. A serious Alpha Academy could show everyone how talented the members of the faction truly are.
