Logan Paul’s WWE injury has already turned into a bigger story than the match itself. He suffered a torn triceps at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23.
The injury came during the tag team title match against The Street Profits, when Angelo Dawkins hit Paul with a flip to the outside. However, ‘The Maverick’ and Austin Theory retained the belts.
That made the aftermath feel even sharper. Fresh backstage footage showed WWE acted fast once the 31-year-old returned from the ring.
Paul’s latest YouTube video explained what happened moments after he got backstage. WWE production asked for the championship belt, despite Paul and Theory having just defended the titles successfully.
‘The Maverick’ did not hide his frustration, saying: “That’s f—— cold, bro. They literally just said, ‘Oh we’re gonna need that.’ I’m still the f—— champ, bro!”
The reaction landed because Paul’s injury was clearly serious. He later shared graphic post-surgery images and said he had been told about a six-month recovery, although he claimed he could return sooner.
WWE has already created a route around his absence. Paul Heyman explained on Raw that The Vision’s contracts allow any member of the group to defend the tag titles.
That leaves Theory able to continue with Bron Breakker while Paul recovers. Bronson Reed is also part of The Vision, although his own injury situation limits the group’s options.
Paul remains important to The Vision, but the company still moved immediately to protect the title picture without waiting for him.
