Nikki Bella Refutes Claims Returning Star Will Replace Her At WrestleMania

According to PWInsider, Saraya, better known to WWE fans as Paige, has re-signed with the company. Furthermore, it's believed the official reveal that Paige is back will come later tonight, with Nikki being dropped from the title match so that the Brit can ride in to save the day and team with Nikki's sister, Brie.

Nikki's comments on the latest edition of The Nikki & Brie Show would suggest otherwise. Even before it was claimed Paige is set to take her place tonight, there were reports suggesting an injury Nikki suffered on SmackDown last month would end up keeping her off the WrestleMania card.

If that is the case, then Nikki is trying to keep fans out of the loop right up until the final second, which would make sense. "WrestleMania, we are back in action. 11 years later, Brie. Over a decade, to remind everyone," Nikki proudly proclaimed on their podcast. An odd thing for her to say with a day to go if she's not going to be competing.

It's A Big WrestleMania For Nikki, Brie, AJ Lee, And Possibly Paige

As Nikki notes, it's a significant WrestleMania for her and Brie for a few reasons. Nikki hasn't competed at a WrestleMania since WrestleMania 33. If you're struggling to think just how long ago that was, it's the event where she teamed with John Cena, and he proposed to her after they won. A lot has happened between then and now.

It has been even longer since Nikki and Brie teamed up at WrestleMania. The twins were on the losing end of a match against AJ Lee and Paige at WrestleMania 31. Whether Nikki is cleared to wrestle or Paige takes her place, it's something of a full-circle WrestleMania for pretty much everyone involved in that match. Lee would retire from wrestling the following night, and her match against Becky Lynch this weekend will be the first time she has been on a WrestleMania card since she teamed with Paige.

The good news is, even though it hasn't been confirmed, it sounds like Paige is back in WWE. Once retired due to injuries, Paige has been wrestling as Saraya in AEW, and it was believed she'd eventually find her way back to WWE after her time there came to an end.
