YOH & Desperado Fight for Junior Heavyweight Crown

Five-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion El Desperado will defend the title for the eighth time against a familiar foe in YOH. This will be the second time they will square off for the title, as it was also Desperado that YOH wrestled for his first shot at it back in 2021.

After YOH’s failed challenge back then, he has beaten Desperado three consecutive times. It seems that he has found the formula to beat the champion, but will he be able to do it again to achieve the biggest singles victory of his otherwise decorated tag team career?

However, it will not be easy, as Desperado is in his most successful reign yet. Having beaten six previous challengers, one of them in a deathmatch and another in a hardcore stipulation, YOH might need all he’s got and some extra kick to win the big one finally.

House of Torture Defends Against Ichiban Sweet Boys

The Ichiban Sweet Boys of TMDK, Kosei Fujita, and Robbie Eagles will reunite to challenge House of Torture’s SHO and DOUKI for the junior tag titles. They have held the titles once before and are looking to free the junior tag division from the crutches of the House.

The champions won the title back in June at Dominion, when DOUKI made his shocking return from injury to team up with SHO. Following their first defense against the former champions Master Wato and YOH, they face the challenge of another team of former champs, as they look to establish dominance not just in the junior heavyweight division but in NJPW as a whole.

Speaking of Master Wato, he is another junior heavyweight with a great opportunity as he faces Hiroshi Tanahashi in a singles match to open the show, as part of the latter’s Final Road. A rare occurrence where both men are on opposite sides, expect Wato to make the most out of this dream match scenario.
